Piercing FAQs
What type of piercings does Revel Road™ offer?
We currently offer earlobe and cartilage piercings (subject to state and county regulations) using the FDA-registered STUDEX® System 75 medical device. System 75 provides a gentle application with sterilized, single-use cartridges designed for safe, precise, and hygienic ear piercings.
Is it safe?
Yes. Your safety is our standard. We use single-use, pre-sterilized STUDEX® cartridges, 14K Gold or medical-grade piercing earrings, and our piercers are Revel Road™ x STUDEX® certified with Bloodborne Pathogen training. We follow strict sanitation and hand-hygiene protocols, all wrapped in our signature Pink Glove Experience™.
What is the STUDEX® System 75 medical device? Is it a gun?
Revel Road™ uses the STUDEX® System 75 medical device for all piercings. This hand-pressurized device is in complete control of our trained piercer's hand to guide, position, and pierce safely. It is not a piercing gun. Guns are spring-loaded tools that 'shoot' the earring in with a swift stabbing motion. Our device is gentle, controlled, and can be used for most piercing placements along the outer perimeter of the ear.
How is the device different from needle piercing?
Needle piercings are performed with a single-use, hollow-bore sterilized needle and use flat-back jewelry for optimal comfort and healing. If your ear anatomy doesn't allow us to use the device for a specific placement, we may recommend getting that area pierced with a needle at another studio.
Does it hurt?
The STUDEX® System 75 medical device provides a virtually pain-free experience. Most guests describe it as a quick, tiny pinch.
What earrings can I choose from?
Our jewelry is selected for comfort, safety, and long-term wear. We carry a curated assortment of hypoallergenic, nickel-safe earrings in 316L surgical stainless steel, 24K gold over 316L surgical stainless steel, 14K yellow gold, and 14K white gold (rhodium plated, as is standard in the industry).
Can I bring my own jewelry to be pierced with?
No, sorry. We exclusively use STUDEX® pre-sterilized earrings for all device piercings to ensure the highest level of safety and sterilization standards for our clients.
How long does a piercing take?
Plan for about 15–30 minutes. This includes your consultation, cleaning, placement marking, the piercing itself, and aftercare instructions. We move at a comfortable pace to make sure you feel confident and informed.
Do you pierce minors?
Revel Road™ serves clients 18 years of age and older. In select cases, we may pierce clients ages 12–17 when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with valid government ID, limited to a maximum of 2 piercings per minor. Event rules may vary.
Are there limits to how many piercings I can get?
Yes. For safety and healing quality there is a maximum of 2 piercings per ear per event.
How much does it cost?
Pricing varies by event but typically includes the piercing service, 14K gold or medical-grade piercing earrings, and aftercare.
Can I take photos or videos?
Absolutely. We love a good 'mark the moment' moment. We just ask that you remain respectful of other guests' privacy and follow any event-specific photography guidelines.
What is the Pink Glove Experience™?
Our signature Revel Road™ experience is clinical-grade safety meets concierge-level care, wrapped in warmth, ease, and celebration. From the time you sit down to the moment you mark it, it's elevated, intentional, and uniquely ours.
